Dear International Students,

为增进文化交流，展示留学生风采，学校现组织大家参加第六届“讲好中国故事”来华留学生视频大赛。该赛事由中国国家创新与发展战略研究会、中国教育电视台与新航道国际教育集团联合主办。本次大赛旨在鼓励大家分享在中国的真实经历，或你对中国的了解和理解。

To promote cultural exchange and showcase the vitality of our international student community, our university is organizing participation in the 6th "Stories of China Retold in Chinese" Video Competition, organized by New Channel International Education Group and China Education Television. This competition encourages you to share your authentic experiences in China or your understanding of China.

现将参赛有关事项通知如下：

The 6th "Stories of China Retold in Chinese" Video Competition

比赛通知

选手模拟舞台现场使用非母语(以中文为主)拍摄作品，录制不超过1.5分钟的视频。作品形式“朗诵、地方故事撰写和朗读、自我介绍”三选一：

Contestants recite in front of the camera, record a video of no more than 1.5 minutes. Participants are required to present in their non-native language (preferably Chinese). The contestants will prepare their entries in one of 3 forms: "Recitation", "Local Story Writing & Retelling", and "Self-Introduction".

1 朗诵Recitation

选手从以下链接内的推荐故事段落中选1篇，或从推荐图书中选1篇朗诵。

Contestants may select and recite one of the recommended story excerpts, or any article from the recommended books from the link below.

2 地方故事撰写和朗读

Local Story Writing & Retelling

选手撰写地方短篇故事并朗读，须围绕中国元素展开创作内容。其中“故事主体”不应是选手个人、“地方”以选手高校所在地为主、“中国元素”包含且不限于中国风物、习俗、人物、成就、艺术或精神。

你的故事应该有一个清晰的叙事结构，包括“故事开头(介绍背景和主要人物)”“故事主体(叙述主要事件以及故事高潮)”和“故事结尾(鼓励创意生动的故事结局)”。

Contestants shall draft a short local story based on Chinese elements. Please be careful not to use the contestants themselves as the subject of the story, "Local" refers to the location of the contestant's university. Chinese elements include but are not limited to Chinese cultural icons, Chinese customs, Chinese great figures, Chinese achievements, Chinese arts, or Chinese spirit.

Your story should have a clear narrative structure, including a  "beginning"(introducing the setting and main characters), a "body"(describing the main events and the climax of the story), and an "ending" (creative endings are especially encouraged).

3 自我介绍Self-Introduction

选手从自身出发展开介绍。自我介绍内容须含有中国元素，包含且不限于中国风物、习俗、人物、成就、艺术或精神。

The contestant will introduce himself/herself. The content of the introduction shall contain Chinese elements, which include but are not limited to Chinese cultural icons, Chinese customs, Chinese great figures, Chinese achievements, Chinese arts, or Chinese spirit.

二、参与建议Suggestions for Participation

1 录制要求Recording requirements

选手自选作品形式后，请使用非母语(以中文为主)录制个人原创视频作品，请务必注意展示过程和视频中不要透露个人信息，例如：英文姓名、校名、学院/专业、校服/校徽、校门/教学楼等；

Contestants could choose one form to prepare their original video in a nonnative language (preferably Chinese). Please be sure not to disclose the contestants' personal information during the presentation or in the video, college/major, school uniform/school logo, school gate/teaching building, etc.

表现形式： 选手需尽量脱稿站立录制。我们鼓励大家通过自然的肢体语言和表情来增强感染力，展现自信风采。

Presentation: Participants are required to stand and record their videos without reading from a script. We encourage you to use natural body language and facial expressions to enhance your delivery and showcase your confidence.

如使用手机类移动设备，建议采用横屏拍摄，以便展示上半身及完整肢体语言、获得更高的画面质量、有机会入选特色选手宣传视频。

If using a mobile device such as a smartphone, record in landscape orientation to show your upper body and full body language for better video quality, and have the chance to be selected for featured contestants' promotional videos.

请不要在视频中添加活动不相关、雷同或抄袭等涉嫌作弊的不规范内容。

Any content that is irrelevant, duplicate, plagiarized, or otherwise suspected of cheating is strictly prohibited.

2 文件规格Video guidelines

视频文件时长最多1.5分钟，支持格式支持mp4、flv、mkv、rmvb 等视频格式， 视频文件最大200M; 故事文稿支持doc、docx、pdf、txt、jpg 、png 格式附件和文本输入。

Video is maximum 1.5 minutes long, and the supported file formats are mp4, flv, mkv, rmvb, etc. The maximum video file size is 200M. Story manuscripts support attachments in doc, docx, pdf, txt, jpg, and png formats, as well as text input.

3  提交作品Video Submission

提交截止： 所有作品请于本月 20 日前提交至R 103

Deadline: All entries must be submitted by the 20th of this month to R 103.

特别说明 Special Notice

提交符合要求的参赛作品，将作为本年度来华留学生奖学金评选的必要条件。未按时提交合规作品的同学，将无法参与本年度的奖学金评定。

Submitting a compliant entry is a mandatory requirement for eligibility in this year's International Student Scholarship evaluation. Students who fail to submit a qualified video by the deadline will not be considered for the scholarship.
